I would firstly explain who I am and ask them what they are looking for. I would then create a quick plan of what I can do to help them and ask whether this works for them. As lessons go on I will continually check in to ensure what I am teaching is helping and right for them. I will use artist examples that match their visual language to show what potential they have if they continue and to also point out places of improvement
