I am a passionate primary educator driven by one vision and goal, that is children first, children second and children third!

Advert description
I have 23 years of teaching experience in all subjects. I believe education must be fun. I possess a real passion and love for teaching and learning, with the desire for all children to achieve their full potential. My classroom is a place where children feel they can challenge themselves, develop friendships, achieve their targets and enjoy the learning in a fun, caring atmosphere.

As a former pupil wrote to me:

'I’m glad that I got to share my years experience with you, I'm positive this year has been the most enjoyable of my school life. Your unbelievable kindness as give me confidence and everything I do, including this letter, if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to express my feelings.'

I always endeavour to make my lessons, purposeful, meaningful and creative. I always focus on the individual needs of all children. I also love to focus my lessons around the particular needs and interest of the class. By doing this standards are higher and the quality of learning is outstanding.

I have a real passion for teaching English, maths and history, always thinking outside the box to make my lessons as creative as possible. An example of this was the work I produced in year six, where I created a literacy unit based upon Harry Potter, teaching innovative and dynamic lessons such as letters of complaint in the guise of a howler. Another example, is on the back of a World War I battlefield trip. I organised to Belgium and France, an SEND child in year six, who attended the trip produced writing on his battlefield experiences that was such a level. It was used as an exemplification piece of writing nationally. I have great experience in preparing children for the KS2 SATS in reading, writing, Grammar, spelling and mathematics.

As another parent of a child with different educational needs wrote to me:

'without your support, your encouragement and your belief in him he believes in himself now because you believed in him first. '

I believe that there should never be any barriers to learning and no child should ever be left behind. I would be delighted and honoured to provide my services and experience to help any child achieve their full potential.
