Advert description
I recently graduated from the University of Cambridge, where I read Modern and Medieval Languages, specialising in French and Russian. I received a Double First-Class and was awarded an academic distinction in my penultimate and final-year exams. I have lived and studied in Estonia and Kazakhstan, where I developed my Russian to professional fluency.
With two years of online tutoring experience, I prioritize tailoring my lessons to meet the unique needs of each student. I recognize that language learners, regardless of their proficiency level, encounter specific challenges that can hinder their progress. To address these obstacles, I employ a variety of adaptive strategies and resources, ensuring that every student can overcome barriers and achieve their language goals.
My approach is centered around fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment. I strive to build strong relationships with my students, encouraging open communication and feedback. This helps me to understand their individual learning styles and motivations, allowing me to adjust my teaching methods accordingly.
For younger learners, I place a strong emphasis on developing core grammatical skills while also immersing them in the cultures of the countries where the language is spoken. By integrating cultural elements into my lessons—such as music, literature, and traditions—I aim to ignite a passion for the language and create a more holistic learning experience. I believe that understanding the cultural context enhances language acquisition and fosters a deeper connection to the material.
Additionally, I utilize interactive and multimedia resources to make lessons engaging and dynamic. Whether through games, videos, or digital tools, I incorporate varied activities that cater to different learning styles, ensuring that students remain motivated and excited about their progress.
Ultimately, my goal is not only to teach a language but also to inspire a lifelong love for learning and cultural exploration. I am dedicated to empowering my students to become confident communicators, equipped with the skills and knowledge to navigate diverse linguistic landscapes.
