Advert description
Hello!
My name is Jordan, and I’m a professional Viola player based in the North West of England.
I currently balance a busy playing career (performing, recording, broadcasting and touring worldwide with UK orchestras), alongside my passion for working with students of all ages and abilities.
My teaching approach is always to tailor the sessions to the individual - enabling each student to be able to reach their potential and achieve their goals and aspirations.
Coming from a conservatoire/performance background myself, I put emphasis on making my teaching sessions balanced, varied and engaging - putting focus on a thorough technical grounding as well as inspiring each individual to strive for musical excellence. I take the time to get to know each student, so that we can work together to enable us to get the most out of our sessions.
I also have a specialism in Early Music performance and Historically Informed Performance practice. My experience includes playing as Principal Viola with many leading period instrument orchestras in London and further afield (The English Concert, Academy of Ancient Music, English Baroque Soloists, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Dunedin Consort), specialising in performance practice from the 17th Century, right through to modern and more contemporary music. If you’re interested in Baroque style playing, I have a wealth of experience in stylistic awareness to inform our playing choices.
My teaching schedule can be very flexible and tailored to each students’ needs, and I am more than happy to arrange sessions at my own home, at the students home or even online too.
Regardless of your age, ability or experience, I’d love to her from you!
