Advert description
I have a Bachelors in Astrophysics from the University of Glasgow where I achieved a first as the top of my class.
I have been tutoring physics for almost five years to friends and family studying anywhere from SQA national 5 up to early university levels.
Beside this I have also spent my summers teaching at a SCUBA school, where I taught students a range of physics principles so that they could gain the knowledge necessary to dive safely.
During my teaching I have developed my abilities to patiently communicate and teach complicated topics with easy to understand anecdotes and activities to engage students with the material they are learning.
In a typical session I would ask questions to gauge my students understanding of a topic before covering the course material. I like to ask questions throughout the lessons to understand areas that the students may be enjoying or are having difficulties with. This lets me focus lessons on a students weakest subject areas within a lesson or plan to revise particular topics in greater detail in future lessons.
I find that completing tests with students in an open book style and practicing problem sheets to be the best way to learn a topic through repetition and practice after covering the course literature.
