Advert description
I achieved grade 9 in both GCSE maths and Further maths, and am predicted A's in my AS level exams. I will identify weaknesses in students abilities and find and create resources and questions for them to address these, as well as explaining clearly the different mathematical concepts.
I have mentored Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE students before, addressing areas of the course where they were struggling. My lessons are structured to identify and target these weak points, ensuring that each student can build a solid foundation in mathematics. I tailor my approach to the individual needs of each student, creating and providing resources to help them improve their understanding and skills.
In a typical lesson, we begin with a brief review of previous material to reinforce learning and ensure retention. My experience of going through GCSE and now A level Maths and Further Maths, and building up my knowledge and working through areas which I struggled in now allows me to break down complex topics into manageable steps, making them easier for students to grasp.
I will incorporate plenty of practice questions, both during the lesson and as homework, to give students the opportunity to apply what they've learned, gain confidence, and because they are one of the best ways to revise Maths. Regular progress checks and feedback sessions are integral parts of my tutoring, helping students to track their improvement and stay motivated. I also offer exam techniques and strategies to help them perform their best under test conditions.
My background includes a strong proficiency in mathematics and a deep understanding of the GCSE curriculum. This enables me to provide high-quality support, ensuring students are well-prepared for their exams. My goal is not only to improve their grades but also to foster a genuine interest and confidence in mathematics, like I developed myself - now wanting to go on and study the subject further at University.
