What if I told you that the best teacher you can obtain is you? I will show you how to make decisions for yourself at an early stage in your development, guide your progress and introduce you to tools that will turbo-charge your learning from the get-go
Advert description
Looking back it seems like I've been doing this for a while! I first joined a band back in 1980 so although that's showing my age a bit, hopefully you'll appreciate I have lots of experience both as a gigging musician and as a tutor.
Drum kit is not one instrument but a collection of different percussion instruments usually played together but each retaining a separate voice, which makes it unique. It's is also generally speaking (in popular music styles) an accompaniment instrument and this is why I teach within a musical framework as much as possible.
I usually guide students to learn to read written rhythm..
The benefits of obtaining this skill are huge!
You can inform guitarists which bar and beat their wrong note is on!
You can learn cool patterns and grooves written in drum books. 'The Double Bass Drum Encyclopedia' for example, or Afro-Cuban Rhythms for Drumset'
You can write down grooves or the part of the song you need to remember and communicate with other musicians..even guitarists! ;)
