Advert description
I hail from India and presently pursuing my masters in digital chemistry and I possess pedagogical skills, and I am keen to apply my teaching skills in training I students who are in Year 6 through 10 for Mathematics teaching in the UK. First, I want to examine how much and what types of maths are taught to students of different ages within the UK teaching system. Therefore, I would begin with the main themes and levels of achievements that pertain with each of the academics levels. Since my education lies in chemistry, it would be interesting to agitate for the real-life aspect of mathematical concepts in the topics where the students will have an interest in. One may for instance put into perspective chemical processes in a given algebraic expression or geometrical shapes of atoms and molecules through molecular orbital theory. Therefore, a range of teaching strategies would be employed to cater for the different learning styles; including problem-solving in groups, visual aids such as pictures, and hands-on learning experiences. I would also consider myself as an international educator to mean that I will focus on any differences that might arise neither in teaching methods nor in culture and strive to engender a positive environment for learning. So, It will also be significant in the enhancement of my teaching especially considering the UK system by identifying the weaknesses or previous problems and learning from the experience of fellows and students in the course. I have confidence that I can deliver quality teachings in mathematics that will be interesting to the learners due to the combination of the mathematics education and the passion I have for chemistry as well as the teaching profession.
