I am Peshala Kumari from Sri Lanka, a BSc. (Hons) Human Biology graduate who graduated from Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura Sri Lanka, in 2007. I followed the BSc. Human biology degree with the subjects including Biochemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Pharmacology and General Pathology along with MBBS undergraduates of the Faculty of Medical Sciences. Then I earned my PhD in Biochemistry, from the Faculty of Graduate studies, University of Sri Jayewardenepura Sri Lanka, in 2014.
I have been a senior lecturer attached to the Department of Basic Sciences, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University (KDU), Sri Lanka for past 8 years. Therefore, I have more than 8 years of experience as an academic, administrator, mentor, supervisor as well as a researcher in the university. I have been involved in teaching Human biology related subjects such as Biochemistry, Anatomy, physiology and pathology for Allied Health undergraduates since 2014. Apart from that I have been involved in teaching technology related multidisciplinary subjects for different undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs. Other than that I have been engaged in teaching Research Methodology for undergraduates. I have been served as a student academic mentor and a student counselor in the faculty during past years.
