1. I completed my Ph.D. in chemistry and postdoctoral research experience.
2. I also hold an honors degree in Materials Science and Technology, which covers materials physics and chemistry
3. I have a Master of Science in Chemistry as well.
My Teaching and Assisting Experiences are
1. From 2011 to 2014, I worked at the National Institute of Fundamental Studies, a government research institute in Sri Lanka. During this time, I provided assistance and training to undergraduate students in the use of laboratory instruments such as LCMS, GC-MS, FTIR, and UV-VIS.
2. I served as a teaching assistant for undergraduate chemistry students at the University of Texas Dallas from 2014 to 2017. As a result, I was awarded a graduate teaching certificate. My responsibilities included exam proctoring, tutoring, and conducting lab classes. I provided instructions and pre-lab lectures, administered weekly quiz exams, demonstrated techniques, taught lab classes, graded quizzes, and lab reports, and entered grades weekly. Additionally, I conducted exam proctoring and marking during the written exams and led mock lab sessions for new teaching assistants.
3. In term 2 of 2022, I completed training as a first-year chemistry demonstrator at The University of New South Wales (UNSW) and worked as a casual academic. I participated in the Beginning To Teach (BIT) program, which trains us for university teaching at UNSW.
