I use a Socratic and lecture style teaching in which I like to provide information which is learnt through specific questioning and tailor made tasks. I have been trained in metacognition, looking into how learners learn and what people can attend to, and how this transfers into long term memory. I am also trained in responsive teaching, tailoring activities to specific learners and their needs. I like to build relationships with learners to understand their learning style, and to make lessons fun and engaging! Nobody can learn if they're bored by their content, and the subjects I am interested in are inherently interesting subjects which should be explored with curiosity and vibrancy! Content can be tailored to the learners needs; if teaching primary level I can offer a basic introduction to what RE is, the main religions, and beginners Philosophy. Teaching secondary level, I can tailor to GCSE or A-Level specifications. Teaching adults, I can bend to the interests or needs of individuals as I have a wealth of experience and a broad range of interests myself which I love to explore with others.
