Secondary and A level science teacher, specialising in adaptive teaching and explaining complicated concepts in relatable ways

I’m a qualified science teacher currently working at a school in Sheffield. I bring tailored 1-1 lessons to really help student push and stretch themselves regardless of starting grade or ability. I use adaptive teaching, an easy laid back approach and my skills of building strong professional relationships with students to help students understand big concepts in science. I have a vast knowledge of the GCSE curriculum, papers, grade boundaries and mark schemes. I use this to help students to break down questions, identify key terminology for exams and focus on correct writing structure and exam techniques as well as scientific content. Each lesson will start with assessing prior knowledge, introducing key ideas, consolidating new knowledge and then building on this with more complicated ideas. The lessons always end by breaking down 2 or 3 common exam questions and live marking this with the student to celebrate success but also work on weak areas. Each lesson will have real, measurable progress and targets so students know exactly what they have achieved each time.
