Expert English tutor providing lessons to children and adults

Hello, my name is Calum and I am a primary and ESOL tutor. I have been teaching primary for 3 years and ESOL for 5 years. I have a 2:1 degree in TESOL and a PGCE Distinction in primary education. In my spare time I enjoy watching and playing sports, travelling and reading.

Experience:
Primary: I qualified from Sheffield Hallam University with a PGCE in Primary Education with PE Specialism. I have gained experience in schools across the Yorkshire region. I have taught across Key Stage 1 and 2 and have also have experience of teaching phonics.

EAL: I qualified from the University of Hull (2:1) in BA Hons Education Studies with Teaching English as an Additional Language (TESOL). My course allowed me to gain a Level 5 Trinity College TESOL Certificate. The course sent me to Shanghai, China to teach EAL students. During my time in Shanghai, I taught at Xianda College, Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) and in local primary schools. I forged good relationships with the Chinese staff and once home in England, I began and still currently teach their children English online. (my wechat is available on request through message)

IELTs: During my time at SISU, I taught IELTs to the students.I helped prepare them for the exams which would allow them to come to the UK to study. I worked with students of all levels from beginner to advanced.

Teaching Style: I have a fun and practical approach to teaching. I adapt my teaching depending on the age and ability of the learner. Not everybody learns the same so I believe it is important to be flexible. I will help any IELTs students prepare for the exam and will cover a variety of exam practice. Homework will be set weekly with a focus on reading, writing and grammar. I will put 100% into every lesson therefore I expect the same from my students.
