Advert description
I approach teaching with enthusiasm and a student-centered mindset. I tailor my methods to meet each student’s needs, ensuring they not only understand the material but also enjoy the learning process. My experience tutoring my dyslexic sister has taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and creativity in teaching. I’m committed to fostering an environment where students feel supported, confident, and motivated to learn.
I have just finished my 4th year reading medicine, but have been involved in teaching other students throughout my education:
- Volunteering at Kumon: Volunteering at a Kumon study centre, where I helped students with maths and English, this gave me valuable insights into how consistent support can boost a student's confidence and abilities.
- Tutoring During the Pandemic: Tutoring my dyslexic sister through her GCSEs during COVID-19 was particularly meaningful. Adapting to her learning style and seeing her progress reinforced my commitment to personalised teaching.
- Primary School Tutoring: Assisting primary school students with reading and maths. It was rewarding to break down fundamental concepts and witness their excitement as they mastered new skills.
- Medical Tutoring: I participated in a 10-week program guiding younger medical students through the musculoskeletal system. I found it rewarding to simplify complex concepts and watch students gain confidence as they understood the material.
- Leadership in Revision: Leading revision sessions and delivering revision lectures at university was a fulfilling experience. I enjoyed creating a supportive environment where students could grasp challenging topics and felt comfortable asking questions.
