Advert description
Hello there. My name is Luke, and I am a PhD student in Education at UCL. I am a CELTA / TESOL certified English tutor and have over four years of professional tutoring experience both online and in-person. In addition to my above teaching qualifications, I have a MA in Education with Distinction from the University of York as well as a MSC in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh.
My specialism is English Language, Literature and IELTS/ESL. I have extensive experience in these areas and have tutored hundreds of students both in the UK in-person as well as from foreign countries online. I can draw upon a diverse range of resources as well as my own experience and expertise to help students reach the top marks. I have also helped a large number of students that needed additional assistance in order to pass their English qualifications. I have knowledge and experience of all major exam boards.
My lessons are always varied, full of enthusiasm and support from myself and I aim to always go above and beyond to ensure you are satisfied, I am always available for any questions outside of the scheduled lessons and will provide extra homework on request. I spend a lot of time outside of lessons preparing and personalising your lessons so that I make the best use of your time. I do not use the same content over and over again; each lesson is customised to focus specifically on the areas required by the student.
During the course of my students’ tutelage, the majority have achieved above-predicted grades and have excelled in their academic performance.
I also have experience of tutoring IELTS to foundation-year students preparing for their university studies, I have also previously worked as a UCAS advisor and university admissions administrator.
I also provide proofreading services for assignments and dissertations for university submissions.
I can also help with guidance for university applications, job applications and have previously assisted over 100 Chinese students with their applications to British universities.
