Online tutoring in all English subjects across Key Stages 2, 3 and 4

Advert description
I have a BA Hons Degree in Youth Work & Theology, and I have worked with children and young people for the past 16 years. Over the last decade I have worked in an educational capacity, as an SEN assistant, an LSA, an HLTA and as a teacher. I now work fully remotely as a tutor, offering classes across key stages 1-4. I have a passion for helping students from all walks of life achieve their very best, and I enjoy the creative challenges that come from finding new ways to teach students according to their needs and abilities. I am very open and friendly, and believe that good teaching starts with a positive rapour between tutor and student. I welcome students of all abilities, including those who have Special Educational Needs, as well as students with ADHD and/or ASD.

I offer the following English classes:

- KS1: Phonics, Sound Blending, Digraphs & Trigraphs, Consonants & Vowels, Sight Words, Rhyming, Spelling, Fiction & Non Fiction, Sentence Structure, Handwriting, Capitalisation and Punctuation.

- KS2: Reading Comprehension, Spelling, Handwriting, Creative Writing & Story Elements, Identifying Writing Styles & Structure, Description and Editing, Different Tenses, 1st & 3rd Person, Vocabulary, Grammar and Punctuation.

- KS3: Comprehension, Writing Structure, Analysing Literature, Purpose & Tone, Creative Techniques, Editing Skills, Building an Argument, Facts vs. Opinions, Plagiarism, Vocabulary & Context, Referencing Skills.

- KS4: Writing Purpose and Tone, Structuring an Argument, Developing Ideas, Formal & Informal Writing, Facts & Opinions, Active & Passive Voices, Identifying Narratives, Essay Skills, Sourcing & Referencing, Historical Texts, Pre & Post War Novels, Poetry and Shakespeare.

I went to her after I failed my English GCSE and she was amazing! I went from a 3 to a 5 and she was really understanding of my needs in regards to my autism and anxiety. The lessons went at my own pace and she was just brilliant, always checking in and super friendly!

Sarah is an amazing tutor and is exceptionally good at supporting SEN children. She is able to understand the child and adapt to what they need. Sarah is calm and nurturing and this shines through when she is tutoring. The student feels safe and comfortable, enabling them to learn. She has provided endless support to my two teenagers and they have progressed amazingly!
