Advert description
I have been teaching for over twenty five years in both the State and Independent sectors. I am currently the Head of History at one of the top performing Independent schools in the country. Additionally, I am an A Level History Examiner and a writer for a leading national GCSE History exam revision site. The tuition provided will make a difference and make this quickly. My particular expertise is in developing student examination technique at both GCSE and A level. My experience in regards to this can make a huge difference to student attainment. Modern World History is my specialist area of GCSE History and I teach a wide range of periods and themes at A level including Modern Britain and Russia. I can help with revision technique, developing essay skills and source analysis. I have a wide range of resources, past papers and revision materials that will support learning. My experience of working in a range of schools means that I have a proven track record in getting excellent results from students of differing abilities, including Oxbridge candidates and HAT preparation. My CRB is up to date as I am currently teaching. My approach is friendly, supportive and genuine. Above all, it is expert. Very few tutees are taken on each year and it is likely that only a few sessions will be required such is the focus, attention to detail and feedback on produced work given in sessions. Clear goals are identified from the outset with the tutee and the student is guided and supported as they move steadily towards achieving them. Very close attention is paid to the specific demands of the examinations that the student will eventually encounter; an understanding of what is exactly required in exam questions is vital to realise potential. Through structured guidance and support, the student will grow in ability and confidence and targets will be achieved. Preparation time, marking and materials are FREE with the £50 charged for each guidance and feedback session. A wide range of specialist resources and materials including presentations and the latest exam papers, mark schemes and examiner`s reports are used. References from recent tutees can be provided.
