I am an experienced and enthusiastic flute teacher, who can teach flute teach to adults and children across a range of levels. I have a BMus (hons) music degree and an MA in Music Performance, as well as 20+ years of flute teaching experience. I have plenty of experience of ABRSM practical and performance exams and I have recently successfully supported a pupil to apply and audition for a music college Junior Department.
My teaching style is pupil-centred and friendly. I teach using a wide variety of musical styles, ranging from classical, jazz, folk and modern. Lessons cover flute technique, performance skills, music theory and music appreciation. I have over 20 years teaching experience across and range of ages and levels and always aim to aspire a love of music making in my pupils.
Lessons can be between 30-60 mins, depending on level.
I am also Principal Flute with a local orchestra and enjoy performing in regular concerts.
