Advert description
I have a Master's degree in Education, having done research in the following areas: maths mastery, growth mindset and differentiation. I currently work as a Year 6 teacher, while serving as Head of Maths, at a primary school in Havering. I've previously been Head of Design & Technology as well as Head of PE, in schools across Newham and Barking & Dagenham.
I have 8 years experience teaching in UK primary schools as well as 8 years of tutoring experience, in-person and online, specialising in KS2 and 11+. Prior to primary, I was working as a secondary physics teacher, teaching up to A-level, as well as: GCSE biology, chemistry and maths.
My PGCE has a maths specialism with my NQT/ECT year taking place at Elmhurst Primary School - the leading school for maths mastery (number 1 in the World). I remained there for three years, developing my practice, before switching across to another school in the academy and helping the roll-out of maths mastery there.
My subject knowledge and more importantly my pedagogical knowledge (the knowledge of how we teach) is excellent. This allows me to effectively adapt the teaching where necessary to make the learning more accessible, ensuring all pupils make good progress from their starting points.
Outside of our tutoring hours, I continue to liaise with my students, ensuring they feel well-supported at all times.
