UoY Honours Graduate from Sweden tutoring History, Politics, English and Music

My name is Will, I'm 22, Swedish-Ecuadorian, and I have recently graduated the University of York with an honours degree in International Relations. I've been tutoring since 2019 and love to tailor subjects to make them interesting, memorable and easily understandable!

I've lived in 5 different countries (Norway, Sweden, South Korea, USA, and UK), and have been a student in many different curriculums. Whether is GCSE's, A Levels or IB, I've developed effective and easy strategies to help me get the grades that I want while not studying for 8 hours a day. These tools are adapted to our own psychology to process information effectively, and were passed down to me from some of the best schools and educators in the world.

Let me briefly explain why I tutor these subjects so well. I grew up in South Korea experiencing nuclear threats and drills annually. From a young age I've absorbed information understanding why our world works the way it does, and how history affects it. This is why I've consistently excelled in Higher Level IB History and gained an even deeper understanding when I completed my degree first (1:1) in International Relations. We will be breaking down complex historical events while using easy to understand higher education theory and ideas, to help you go that extra mile on exams and essays.

Analyzing English Literature came very naturally to me because to excel at it you must actively think creatively. Using my method to look for symbolic relevances in an abstract way, allowed me to get the highest grades while studying minimally. I have seen my students go from struggling with analyzing literature at the surface level, to naturally diving into the deep end by following this tactic.

Lastly, I teach music theory, guitar, drums, and composition, because I've put thousands of hours into writing, practicing and recording music. Recently my musical project brought me to record with the producer/guitarist of Duran Duran. If you want to learn how to get better at an instrument, develop your own style, and write personal unique songs, we're going to have a blast working together!

I know the difference that an engaging tutor makes, because I've had bad ones myself, not too long ago. Therefore I look forward to getting to know you personally, and tailoring our lessons to your needs and preferences.
