Advert description
Hello, my name is Benjamin Ansell, I am a 500hrs Yoga RYT Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga teacher which I received from the Nepal Yoga Academy, studying under Dr Chintamani. I have been practising Hatha and Ashtanga for 8 years and teaching for just under a year. During my time in Nepal, I learned to teach the Theory and Practice of Teaching Ashtanga and Hatha Asanas, Pranayama, Mudra-Bandhas, Anatomy, Ethics and Yoga Philosophy. Over the past year, I have been fortunate enough to teach in Nepal, Vietnam and Mexico, covering a variety of styles and a range of student abilities.
My lessons are designed to help you in any way you wish to improve, whether your concern is fitness, spiritual development, flexibility or health I will be able to tailor the lesson to meet your requirements. We can discuss in length the goals you have within your practice and how you would like to pursue them.
The main aim is for you to enjoy your time on the mat and take the skills you learn within our lessons into wider areas of life, here is a little more detail on the kind of lessons I can offer and what you can expect to learn and the benefits you can gain from each one -
Asana (Hatha, Vinyasa, Ashtanga and Yin) -
Asana is the physical posture we have come to know as yoga. Yoga is a much wider definition of all the practices that lead towards samadhi. There are various schools or styles of asana and depending on your individual needs there will be one that suits you best. The end of each asana class will end in Shavasana (corpse pose) with a short meditation.
Meditation -
If you would like to expand your knowledge of meditation, instead of a shorter session towards the end of the class, we can spend more time focusing on the practice and choose a specific asana to help strengthen your Padmasana (lotus pose). Depending on your specific requirements there are many different paths and practices to choose from. All mediations will be led with specific intentions.
Pranayama -
Pranayama is the 4th limb of Patanjali's Ashtanga yoga and it is the practice of controlling your breath. There are a wide variety of practices within pranayama that can have a profound impact on your day-to-day living. Similarly to the options above these lessons can be tailored to your specific needs and as your skill set, changes can be made to continue your progression.
Look forward to hearing from you.
