I always wished I had some extra help during school, not because I wasn’t smart, but because the way things where taught didn’t always work for me. Often, it was discussion with teachers after class where my understanding really developed, and it was always understanding, not just memory, that lead to better learning and ultimately higher grades. I want to help students to grapple with the subjects they find challenging in a way that works for them, to have those eureka moments that will take their learning beyond the classroom and best prepare them for their next lesson and final exams.
