Growing up around people from Portugal, Angola, Cape Verde, and other Lusophone countries, I was exposed to distinct accents, dialects, and cultural expressions. My entertainment was predominantly in Portuguese - cartoons from Portugal as a child, later YouTube, movies, and music from Brazil. With a bilingual family, I learned to adapt my Portuguese continuously based on who I spoke with. This lifelong immersion in the nuances of the language across different regions gave me an authentic understanding and appreciation for Portuguese in all its complexity. I can seamlessly navigate the diverse dialects, idioms, and cultural references of the Portuguese-speaking world.
