Oxford Classics DPhil Tutor |Tutor for Classics & History

Advert description
I am a passionate student with an infectious love for antiquity and all things historical. Just as my mentors instilled me with this enthusiasm, so too do I wish to inspire in others the same passion for the past and to open their eyes to its wonders.

I am a graduate student at Oxford pursuing a DPhil in Classics (Lang.& Lit.), having recently completed my MSt in the same subject. Hailing from Canada, I graduated from McGill University with a Joint First Class Honours in Classics and History, meriting scholarships for excellence in Greek & Latin, History, and general academic achievement. I believe that all students can achieve success through the combination of applied effort and patient mentoring.

As a student myself, I recognise the success that comes with supportive and personalised tuition. I strive to to be as encouraging and accommodating to all students, whilst challenging them to reach their full potentials. In order to achieve this, I first get to know the student, build a rapport with them, and establish what their strengths and weaknesses are. With this understanding, it will then be possible to hone in on specific goals or areas that need to be strengthened. This can take the form of focused feedback, interactive exercises, and more.
