I’m confident teaching individuals one on one, or in groups ranging from 5-15. My routine is to research, plan, teach and reflect, ensuring a gentle paced session with room for extra challenges and extensions. I carefully cater to each individual’s needs and mould my approach to fit each child. During teaching, I can adapt my explanations to ensure each child has a 100% understanding of the task before beginning. With my friendly and nurturing nature, I’m easy to approach and children feel at ease asking for support, which is crucial for the child’s development. After planning the lesson and teaching the children, I allow reflection time to discuss the lesson; this includes how the child found the lesson, the level of difficulty and what they’d like to focus on in the future. It’s also important to allow time for conversations and breaks which encourage the children and I to bond, creating trusted relationships.
