Advert description
I am Consuelo, an Italian girl who is currently based in Nottingham for her PhD.
I did my A levels at Liceo Prati Trento (Italy), which is one of the most prestigious high schools in Italy, with a focus on humanistic subjects, such as Latin, Ancient Greek and Italian. During my high school years, I had the chance to do an exchange year in Scotland, where I did my Highers in English, Maths, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
I graduated in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technologies (University of Milan) with a special distinction in 2020 and then I decided to continue my studies with a PhD at the University of Nottingham, where I am currently working on the development of immunomodulatory 3D-printable alginate analogues for mitigating foreign body reaction.
Although English is not my first language, my proficiency in reading and listening are to native standard and I can write and speak to a high level (IELTS score: 8). These skills are demonstrated and advanced through my work as a doctoral researcher, in which I regularly convey complex ideas verbally and in writing.
I have always been a very diligent and highly motivated student, as proven by my academic results, and I would like to use the knowledge and experience I acquired over the past years to help students that struggle. I find tutoring an exciting opportunity to help students overcome their difficulties and achieve their goals. It also represents a great chance to share my passion for science and languages while developing and improving my communication skills as I tailor my teaching sessions based on students’ needs and aims.
For the past two years, I have been tutoring high school and university students, even with learning disabilities, in chemistry and other sciences. Given my background, I am also keen on tutoring in Italian as I would like to spread the love I have for this language.
