Hi, I'm Rowan and I'm a second-year Mathematical Physics student at the University of Nottingham. I have always been fascinated by maths and this is shown by my A* grade at A-Level and my decision to study the subject in higher education. Studying maths and physics at university puts me in an excellent position to start tutoring because not only do I have many years of experience learning about maths and physics but I am still learning, which means my knowledge is put to the test everyday which will only make my tutoring skills better.
I am an energetic and motivating person, which would translate into an engaging style of tutoring. I always like to relate Mathematical concepts to real-world applications, which helps give the pupil a better understanding of what they are tackling and helps them think as a mathematician.
I also strongly believe that exam technique is a crucial part of the tutoring process. For this reason, I like to challenge my pupils with a wide variety of past exam and exam-style questions to ensure they can apply their understanding to more convoluted examples. This gives them methods for problem solving when reaching a wall in a question.
