I do not have previous teaching experience, but I have made materials for teaching on multiple occasions. In teaching English, I would pay attention to speaking and comprehension, as that is a skill useful in getting by. This would be achieved by having a variety of conversations with the student strictly in English, correcting their mistakes and answering their questions. I would also point them toward resources that might help them practice, and use similar resources to teach in the class. In terms of reading and writing, I will prepare a lesson plan that will include exercises for the student to do in the class. I believe practice makes perfect, and learning to read and write can only be done by reading and writing!
