Advert description
Teaching students can be both engaging and effective, drawing from my experience tutoring my younger siblings and being a literacy mentor in sixth form. These roles taught me the importance of clear explanations and interactive learning, especially for primary school learners.
I use interactive tools such as visual aids and online whiteboards like Jamboard to keep students engaged. For numeracy, this allows students to solve problems in real time, making learning more dynamic. In literacy and SPaG lessons, I use fun quizzes and platforms like Kahoot to make revision enjoyable.
When teaching, I focus on breaking down complex concepts. For numeracy, I start with simple examples and build up, ensuring students gain confidence. In literacy, I provide short exercises with immediate feedback, which helps students correct mistakes on the spot. Real-world examples, such as using storytelling for literacy, make learning more relatable.
Active participation is crucial in keeping students involved. I encourage them to answer questions aloud or use the chat feature, and I often use breakout rooms for verbal reasoning tasks to foster collaboration and interaction.
