I would first of course find out what the person is interested in. What language or what their goal is. One thing that's important to know before you start programming is to know why youre even programming so i will ensure your learning is geared towards your final goal, this will keep it interesting and also give you reasons to continue. I am a brilliant listener and very patient as a person so ask me a billion questions and I'll answer them with a smile. Thats how i learnt programming and thats how i think everyone should. I am a University graduate with a degree in Computer Science so i can cover a wide range of topics teaching you reasons why certain things happen as well.
