Advert description
As a native Italian speaker, I have been resident in the UK for almost twenty years, during which time I have gained extensive experience as an Italian Language Tutor, teaching many aspects of Italian to students of all ages. I have thoroughly enjoyed this work, and it led me to complete a PTLLS qualification in 2013, with a view to teaching in a more formal setting in the future.
A few years ago, I also began working as an Italian Language Interpreter. This has involved the provision of interpreting services, and has seen me work in close collaboration (both remotely and face-to-face) with local authorities, including the Police, the NHS, Universal Credit and institutions around the world. This has enabled me to further develop my skills in one-to-one situations, and to work with a wide variety of people.
Academically, I have a background in modern languages and classical studies, which has included the study of Latin and Ancient Greek, in-depth study of General and Applied Linguistic and German philology. My commitment to education has seen me achieve a BA in Foreign Languages and Literature (First-Class Honours), along with an MSc in Scientific, Technical and Medical Translation with Translation Technology from Imperial College, London.
My teaching experience has developed significantly over the years, and I have been able to teach both full classes of students, as well as on a one-to-one basis. More recently I have taught an increasing number of lessons using online IT platforms, utilising video and audio in the process.
