I spent a lot of time organising notes an practice questions to use myself and I would use these in our lessons. Of course, I would adapt them to the student’s exam board and help them make notes of their own.
A typical lesson may start by going over any content which isn’t fully understood. Next, we would do some practice questions on the content and I can explain shortcuts or alternative methods which the student might find easier to understand and quicker to use. I can have problem sheets organised by topics prepared for the student to go over in their own time and we can then go through them in the next session.
I have a tablet, laptop and camera which all work well together for online lessons. Personally I find that 1-on-1 online lessons can be just as efficient as face to face for both the student and tutor but I’m happy to travel near (within 20km) Newbury, Berkshire.
Of course, this is a very rough guide and usually the student knows what works best for them so I’m open to all options.
