Maths and Physics Tutor for all ages

Advert description
I have a Bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics and currently work as a Research Engineer at the European Spallation Source (ESS) based in Lund, Sweden. Being at the forefront of condensed matter research at a national laboratory is exciting, challenging and demanding. As a result of this work, I’ve developed a passion for creative problem solving and deep appreciation for the liberating feeling independent, solution-oriented thinking has to offer -- and I'm eager to share it with others.

The poetry of mathematics profoundly parallels our journey through life. While the presence of an objectively true answer often leaves students frustrated and disenfranchised, they fail to see the amazing opportunity for growth such a challenge presents. Confusing the presence of a correct answer with a requirement for rigid, robotic and mechanical thinking is perhaps the greatest fallacy associated with the field of mathematics; and helping people deconstruct this notion and develop reason-based, critical thinking is precisely what motivates me to teach maths and physics.

This is why I want to teach mathematics. I want to help students develop life-long numeracy skills and reason-based thinking that will enable them to meet the demands of a changing world with confidence. Educating the future innovators, thinkers and leaders of the world is fulfilling and self-sustaining work that I want to be a part of.

If given the opportunity to tutor online with findtutors, I can help students of all ages raise their standards of thinking by challenging them to learn from their mistakes and develop the resolve to limit them in the future.
