I have been teaching chess to kids and adults for 5 years (private lessons & group classes in-person & online). I enjoy doing it, and always make a personalized lesson plan for my students according to their strengths and weaknesses. A long coaching experience helped me to make my lessons both informative, interesting and easy to understand.
Besides, I have a long tournament experience:
In June 2014, I tied for 1st place at the 7th NY International Chess tournament (U1900 section). I won the U1600 tournament at the Marshall Chess Club with a score of 5/5 in 2012. I have taken part in many US tournaments: World Open, US Open, Potomac Open, Chicago Open etc.
During my school years, I participated in many junior international championships. In 1999, I was awarded the title of Candidate Master.
I learned to play chess when I was 5 years old.
As a kid, I had great teachers, International Masters, who taught chess with a fundamental and classical approach. Furthermore, my husband is an active professional chess player (Grandmaster), which helps me to get the most specific information first hand.
Learning key principles, chess strategy, solving puzzles and analyzing positions - all these can be very exciting.
