I have a doctorate in Communications from the University of Pennsylvania, so I have written both a thesis for my master's degree in Comm and a dissertation, some of which has been published. While in graduate school, I worked on several research projects from health communication to children's television to political rhetoric. I have also taught research design and have designed and developed courses from research methodology to communication theory to African American studies (my dissertation was about the civil rights movement from-).

I also have a Master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition, and have taught many, many public speaking, interpersonal communication, and composition courses.

I have tutored off and on since 1992 when I was Assistant Director of the Writing Center at the University of Maryland, and then off-and-on for students while teaching at Univ. of Maryland. For Varsity Tutors, I have done online tutoring since September 2022, have a 100% rating, and have tutored students from 6th grade, to doctoral students, to business professionals, and a priest! I very much enjoy working with a range of people!
