My knowledge of Spanish comes from a career in Engineering and Construction Insurance which involved a lot of work on Latin American projects and visits to various countries in the region. I also lived in Caracas, Venezuela for a short time but have been largely London based.
I have built up my knowledge through immersion and study and did an intense course at Berlitz Language School in the 1980s. Since my retirement and move to South Wales, I have spent several years teaching Spanish at Adult Education centres to beginner and intermediate levels. This has provided me with good experience in tuition and I have some interesting ideas on how to fast-track learning.
My style is very relaxed and I try to add a bit of fun and devilment to my classes by introducing games, trivia and quizzes. However, I am more than happy to focus on a particular aspect such as verb tenses, grammar or vocabulary to suit the needs of the individual.
I have developed a number of learning aids including some games and quizzes.
