Hello! My name is Massimo Sansonetti, and I am a passionate Head Chef with over 20 years of experience in authentic Italian cuisine. Born and raised in Italy, I bring the heart and soul of traditional cooking into every dish and every lesson I share. Currently based in Melbourne, Australia, I continue to celebrate the rich culinary heritage of my homeland by teaching students of all levels how to master Italian recipes with confidence, precision, and joy.
Throughout my career, I have worked in renowned restaurants and trained under respected Italian chefs, gaining a deep understanding of both regional classics and modern approaches. From fresh hand-made pasta to classic risottos, from delicate seafood dishes to rustic Roman favourites, I provide hands-on, technique-focused lessons that go beyond recipes – helping you truly understand the culture and soul of Italian food.
I believe in the value of seasonal, high-quality ingredients, simplicity, and care in preparation. Whether you're a beginner who wants to impress your friends with your first carbonara, or a more experienced cook seeking to refine your gnocchi or tiramisù, I tailor each session to suit your goals and skill level.
I’m available for both individual and small group lessons, online or in person, and I speak both English and Italian fluently. My teaching style is warm, patient, and practical – I want you to feel confident and inspired every time you cook.
