Supportive and Enthusiastic Tutor in Physics & Maths

I am a 4th year physics student on course to complete a Master of Physics (MPhys) degree with a First Class mark. Before that, I studied Natural Sciences at High School which included Physics, Maths, Chemistry and Biology.

In the past I have tutored everything from secondary school to university students, including one-on-one after-school tutoring and being a leader in my university's Peer Assisted Study Scheme (PASS). I tutor mainly in Physics and Maths, but as I am proficient in 5 languages, I can tutor Spanish, French and Swedish too. Through my previous experiences, I have gained the communication skills necessary to explain difficult topics and the study techniques that actually work to learn properly.

My lessons are structured in a way to apply what you have read or learnt as quickly as possible, which is how you actually solidify and consolidate knowledge. We start with understanding the basic concepts, identifying any lagging areas in our understanding. Then we create a list of specific points to focus our studying on, and exercises to address these. As we go through the exercises, we make mistakes and learn from them, iterating until our knowledge is rock-solid. Finally, we reflect on our learning; what techniques worked for me? what could we have done better? how long did each task take? This framework works for any subject and will not only make you learn in the short term, but also become a better learner for life!

In my free time I love playing sports like football, tennis and American football. I also enjoy reading about various topics like psychology, philosophy, economics and science to expand my general knowledge and vocabulary. Also, I am a very sociable person who loves to spend time with my friends and family, and make new connections wherever I go.
