Volunteer Activities I am utilizing my study abroad experience by volunteering as a facilitator for an organization called With the World. My role involves providing opportunities for international students, including Japanese students, to practice speaking English, fostering an environment where everyone’s opinions are respected, and facilitating discussions. Through this experience, I have greatly improved my leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as I need to adapt my approach to suit different individuals and situations. This has strengthened my ability to work effectively in a team and enhanced my capacity to complete tasks within a given timeframe. I believe these skills will be valuable in a professional setting as well. Part-time Work Experience In the UK, I leveraged my study abroad experience by working in student support for international students. This job aimed to help new students in the UK learn English and get accustomed to the local culture and lifestyle. Specifically, my responsibilities included supporting their English studies, handling issues at their homestay locations, and assisting with tours of the town and castles. Through dealing with homestay issues and supporting their daily lives, I honed my ability to solve problems quickly and effectively. I learned to mediate different perspectives and find solutions that satisfied all parties involved. Additionally, organizing and managing tours required teamwork. By leading and coordinating with team members, I reaffirmed the importance of leadership and collaboration. I would like to make the lessons engaging for students, fostering not only the language skills, but also the cultural understanding.
