Advert description
I tailor my lessons to the needs of the student. Not just the needs, but the interests and passion that drives them to learn in the first place. I do this in my day-to-day life when conversing with others from different parts of the world. I speak English, Mandarin and Spanish, and find the comparison of language, culture and history an incredibly interesting subject matter that translates to having a well-rounded perspective of the world.
I currently have a CELTA, aimed at teaching English, but the same skills are ultimately transferable into any language that I speak.
I currently work for Deliveroo, responsible for prospecting and negotiating with Chinese Restaurants and brands to join our platform. I form long-lasting relationships with these food-operators and help them communicate to their full capacity with an English business, like Deliveroo.
Essentially, I am inherently passionate about bridging the gap between the two cultures, and this is what I've been doing all my life. I speak to my Chinese grandparents in only Chinese, and to my English grandparents in English. it is not just down to a difference in language ability, but to cultural differences. From business practices, family values, and differences in religious/political beliefs and how that translates to why cultures are the way they are - supported by world history that is not-so well known in the Western Hemisphere.
