Hello there! My name is Dan, I am an English native speaker and teacher. I started teaching in 2008 in South Korea, where I have also lived for 16 years. I have worked in public schools, private institutions and local government. More recently, I have begun concentrating on private tutoring because I find this the most effective and the most fulfilling.

In my opinion, English is split into 2 categories: input (reading & listening) and output (writing & speaking). Input is how you learn, output is how you become fluent. I also believe 10 minutes everyday to learn English are more effective than an hour a week. I will ask you to really dive into English language and culture, not only during our classes, but in general.

I ask you to read, write and listen every day - how much depends on you, but consistency is the key to success. What I’d advise you to do would be: reading easy, enjoyable books in English, listening to podcasts and keeping a diary. Then in the class we will practice what you have learned through activities, role-plays and conversation.

I understand my students on the same level, because I am also a language learner myself- it’s been invaluable in helping me to understand the difficulties my students encounter - and how to help resolve them.
