Advert description
I am a lecturer, tutor, and doctoral student specializing in the figures, culture, and society of the late Roman Republic (100–42 BCE). Additionally, I am deeply interested in the daily lives of ancient peoples, with a particular emphasis on Latin literature and language, Greek and Roman philosophies, numismatics, and art. I spent nine years living in Rome, where I earned my BA in Classical Studies, graduating magna cum laude. During this time, I conducted research in Turkey, Athens, Philippi, and Thasos, and received archaeological training in Baia, Naples, Minorca, and Lake Tiberius in Israel. My primary focus was on Latin and the philosophies of the Roman Republic. I then pursued an MA in Latin at the University of Manchester, graduating with Merit in 2019. Since 2020, I have been a doctoral student at the University of Roehampton, where my love of Latin is further consolidated in my thesis. Throughout my academic journey, I have held several positions as a tutor and lecturer in Roman history and Latin at various levels.
Having studied Latin extensively, I am acutely aware of the challenges it presents to both English speakers and non-native speakers. Recognizing the often daunting nature of the language, I tailor my teaching methods to fit each student's unique learning style. I apply this to Roman history as well. My goal is to provide not just a path to excellent grades, but a deep, fundamental understanding of Latin. I work closely with students to cultivate a lifelong love for the language. Whether you are beginning your study of Latin or seeking to advance your knowledge, I am here to help you achieve your goals.
