Advert description
I am a student at the University of Manchester, just finished my first year of Planetary Sciences, and will join Aerospace Engineering as a new course in September. I graduated in Colombia, which high grades in IGSE, and did an accelerated program of A-Levels in Math, Chemistry and Physics. I am fluent in Spanish, English and French.
For all math tutoring, I primarily focus on mastering the basics and mental maths training because I believe they can help the students understand more easily. I know the difficulties that come with having attention deficit, so I make sure the activities keep the students motivated and entertained, especially the younger ones. Sometimes having visual aids to understand numbers, is more useful than looking at equations, that's why I try to find as many real-life examples and explanations, and even digital animations as possible.
For French tutoring, I like to avoid translations as much as possible. I am a firm believer that the more you listen to a language, the faster you will grasp it. I am not very strict with grammar at first, making mistakes and speaking/writing incorrectly is the first step. I understand that first feeling of frustration when speaking a foreign language, so I try my best to be supportive and non-judgemental with the students. I push the idea that learning a language is never easy and it takes practice. Little habits like changing your device's language (Alexa-Home, Phone, Laptop) and watching movies with subtitles in French, can be the turning point of the learning journey.
