Advert description
I have a BA in Film from Manchester Film School. I also worked at the Film School for six years as a technician and three years as a lead tutor. During my time there I gave feedback on student scripts, organised Writers Circles, and oversaw the production of over one hundred and fifty short films.
I’m fascinated by story telling and have studied a wealth of literature on the subject including John Yorke‘s “Into the Woods”, Joseph Campbell’s “Hero with a Thousand Faces”, Chris Vogler’s “Writers Journey” and Keith Giglio’s “Writing the comedy blockbuster”. I continue to learn myself, regularly attending online script workshops organised by BFI, Film Hub North, Bectu and Raindance. I love to teach filmmaking and share what I have learned over the years.
I'm a filmmaker myself, having written and directed twenty short films. I’ve worked hard over the years to develop the skills to write comedy sketches and short films, going through the crucible of screening my early films, during which there weren’t many laughs! Thankfully my recent screenings have been very well received.
I'm available to give script feedback, as well as advice on scheduling and general production.
