Experienced English Educator with 20+ Years of Teaching All Ages – Ready for a New Challenge!

Advert description
I am David , a dedicated and experienced educator with over 20 years of teaching English as a second language. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with students from a wide range of backgrounds and proficiency levels, from young learners in primary schools to government officials needing specialized English training. My passion for education and my commitment to helping students achieve their goals have driven me to continuously evolve and adapt my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of my students.
My academic background laid a strong foundation for my teaching career. I earned a BA in Sociology from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1999, followed by an HND in Public Administration from Teesside University in 1996. To further enhance my teaching skills, I pursued various professional qualifications, including a Diploma in TESOL from Trinity College, England, in 2021. I also completed the TYLEC (Teaching Young Learners Extension Course) in 2016 and the CELTA.
My career has taken me to various educational institutions and roles. Recently, I taught English for Academic Purposes at Sheffield University, where I helped students prepare for the demands of higher education. I also worked with the Department of Foreign Affairs, conducting English testing and teaching English for specific purposes to government staff. My role at Silpakorn University involved teaching academic English to Master's and PhD students, as well as designing programs in collaboration with university staff.

From 2017 to 2022, I served as an English teacher at the British Council in Bangkok, where I taught primary and secondary students, as well as adults from beginner to advanced levels. My experience in Hong Kong with the British Council further honed my skills in delivering English language education through task-based learning and project-based learning approaches. Before that, as the Head of English in the Primary Department at a school, I was responsible for writing and implementing curricula, designing assessment procedures, and training other teachers.
Throughout my career, I have consistently sought out new challenges and opportunities for professional growth. My experiences have not only expanded my knowledge and skills but have also deepened my passion for teaching and my commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment.
