Experienced English and History tutor has availability for years 7-11

I have a BA Degree Classical Studies and am working towards a Masters Degree in this subject. Over two years experience teaching face to face and online. Primarily English Language and Literature, History and English Functional Skills. Excellent record in supporting students to attain higher levels re: GCSE results as well as younger students needing 1-1 support. As my own studies were through the Open University predominantly online I have first hand knowledge of this medium, the benefits and difficulties. I am currently tutoring SEND student for 2 years who does not attend school and have built up her confidence and knowledge so she is now ready to sit her History AQA exam. Through the NTP I have supported/taught small groups online who were behind due to Covid19 and at present working with a mixture of online and face to face students, one of whom has been attending lesson for two years. I have past experience working with young people as a Student Support Officer with a secondary school and within the residential care system. Retired and dedicated tutor I can offer flexibility, knowledge and patience. Through my own recent studies I understand the pressure surrounding examinations and have a high level of competency with regard to exam support. Excellent knowledge of AQA subjects as well as Excel. I use Zoom as well as Bramble and keep my students up to date and focused through extra articles outside the curriculum. For example, my Classical studies knowledge of analysing and assessing both primary and secondary source materials. My main focus is to work with the student, assessing their needs and abilities and planning lessons to create interest, knowledge and understanding , thereby implementing higher academic standards .
