I would describe myself as passionate, adaptable and knowledgeable. I love teaching and want to help students to develop.

My lessons follow a chronological order, exploring different themes and historical skills throughout. I aim to make my lessons relevant to the modern day, linking current affairs to the events of the past. Understanding history gives us a deeper appreciation for the present, so developing our historical skills is essential to understanding the world. Each lesson will aim to build skills of interpretation, significance, change and continuity through demonstration, various activities, and guided extended writing. Learning is a collaborative effort, so I will have a short and long term plan for learning, but if you have specific skills you wish to refine, we can plan the best course together. Everybody learns in their own way, so lessons must be responsive to your learning style and interests.

I have taught GCSE history, looking at Medicine through Time, Germany Elizabethan England, and the Cold War. I have some experience teaching at A level, and would love to work with you to expand on this.
