I tutor science students in KS3 and KS4.

I begin by identifying students’ prior knowledge and misconceptions; then materials are presented in chunks with clear explanation, modelling and scaffolding; this is followed by questioning, guided practice, checking for understanding (AfL); then more independent practice and weekly and monthly review to promote automaticity.
