Advert description
Hi there! My name is Swathi and I’m a final year Chemistry with Mol. Physics student from Imperial College London. I enjoy all aspects of my degree, but I am particularly passionate about physical chemistry, an exciting interdisciplinary sub-topic that combines physics and maths to understand chemical systems.
I am a firm believer in strengthening foundations and understanding the fundamentals of a subject, and am opposed to rote learning, something that is reflected in my teaching style. I like using visual and interactive tools to teach science because it makes learning fun rather than a chore.
I am a science communicator and enjoy making science more accessible. I have written articles and made videos on a variety of topics aimed at GCSE and A-level students and am comfortable conveying complex topics in a simple and straightforward manner.
I have formal and voluntary experience in tutoring students. I was a member of the ‘Kids With Brains’ team, through which I assisted in teaching KS1 and KS2 students basic concepts of science through experiments. Within Imperial, I have demonstrated and guided students in many outreach programmes aimed at Yr10 – Yr13 students conducted by the Chemistry department as well as science programmes in school.
