Sophia Emmanouilidou studied Composition at undergraduate and postgraduate level (5-year degree equivalent to an integrated master's degree) at the School of Fine Arts, Department of Music Studies, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (GR) under the supervision of Professor Michalis Lapidakis, with a thesis grade of 8.33 and a degree grade of 8.5 (Excellent). He also studied composition with professors Christos Samaras, Dimitris Papageorgiou and Dimitris Maronidis. In addition, she has taken master classes in composition with Mark Andre, Malin Bång, Bryan Ferneyhough, Jana Luksts, Cristian Benvenuti and Reinhold Friedl. In 2020 she graduated from the Aristotle University and was accepted to the interdisciplinary postgraduate program "Arts and Technologies of Sound" of the Ionian University in Corfu (GR) in the direction of Electroacoustic Artistic Creation. He graduated from the second postgraduate course in 2023 with a thesis grade of 9,21 and a degree grade of 8,96 (Excellent). In 2023 she continued her studies on psychology. Currently, Sophia Emmanouilidou focuses on electroacoustic compositions and compositions using music programming, as well as multimedia compositions with a combination of acoustic instruments, pre-recorded tapes, video and music programming. She lives and works in Thessaloniki as a musician/composer/performer. In addition, for the last 7 years she has also been working as a music teacher in Creative Employment Centres (CDAPs)/Music Schools/Odeia and Public Institutes for Vocational Training (PIVT).
